QBREAK – Quick Break Objects in ACTCAD

The QBREAK command in ACTCAD quickly splits an object into two parts or removes a segment between two specified points with fewer steps than the standard BREAK command. It is useful for rapid edits such as trimming sections of polylines, cutting lines at exact points, or breaking arcs for detailing.

Steps to Use QBREAK in ACTCAD:

  1. Step 1 : Launch the QBREAK Command

Type QBREAK in the command bar and press Enter.

  2. QBREAK
  3. Step 2 : Select Objects to Break

Click the line, arc, polyline, circle, spline, or ellipse you want to break. Specify points as prompted to define the break.

  4. QBREAK
  5. Step 3 : Finalize

Press Enter to finish. The resulting objects can be moved, trimmed, extended, or otherwise modified as normal.

Tips

  • Use object snaps (OSNAP) to pick precise break points.
  • For quick splits at a picked point, select near the desired location on the object.
  • If the result is not as expected, use UNDO (Ctrl+Z) and repeat with different pick points.

Conclusion

The QBREAK command provides a faster, simplified alternative to the standard BREAK tool. It reduces steps to split geometry and, combined with object snaps, improves drafting efficiency and accuracy in technical projects.
