GCTANGENT in ACTCAD – Apply Tangent Constraint

GCTANGENT in ACTCAD
The GCTANGENT command in ACTCAD is used to apply a geometric constraint that forces a tangent relationship between two selected entities. This is typically used in 2D parametric drawings to ensure that curves (such as arcs and circles) remain tangent to lines or other curves during modifications or constraints-based design.
Steps to use GCTANGENT in ACTCAD:
Step 1: Start the Command
- Type GCTANGENT in the command line and press Enter.

Step 2: Select the First Entity
- Click on the first object (can be a line, arc, or circle) that you want to apply the tangent constraint to.

Step 3: Select the Second Entity
- Click on the second object you want to constrain tangent to the first.

ACTCAD will immediately apply a tangent constraint between the two selected entities.

Conclusion:
The GCTANGENT command in ACTCAD is a vital geometric constraint that enables you to enforce tangency between entities, ensuring smooth and accurate design transitions. It's an essential tool for anyone working with parametric sketches, especially in mechanical or industrial design workflows.
